So todays post is on how to save all your pennies when going abroad,it could be pretty difficult,your in a foreign country,new ways,new people,new prices how are you supposed to know that your not the next target of a full £50.00 profit for a cheap fake leather bag?

Below I am going to go through the main ways of how you can get ripped of but how to AVOID it..




Okay So when Lilly Allen Recently tweeted that Rynair Had Charged her £40 to pring out her boarding pass,we all recognised the budget fustrations.So heres how to avoid getting stung:

-Excess Baggage Fees:Check in your case online and make sure the weight is less then your allowance.Airlines scales can sometimes calculate your case is heavier1Believe me I experience this practically every single year when im flying,so another good idea is to take the luggage to an empty counter where you can find a scale just before you check in.It avoids you having to pay more (£10.00 a kilo on most airlines) or the embarassment of opening the suitcase in public with your under garments flying about!!

-Airlines helplines charge between 50p to £1.00 a minute.try to resolve the matter by email,and also use saynoto0870.com to find an alternative number.

-Dont pay with credit card you could be charged upto £5.00 per person,per leg, of your flight.Debit cards particulary  visa electrons are cheaper.

-Take a chance on seating: you'll add another £15-£20.00 by choosing priority seatimg.

-Print out your boarding pass at home/libary/shop wherever!!just not at the airport you do not want to be charged £40.00 for a sheet of paper!!

Next, You have found a ticket to Spain for 99p WOW bargain!!!!!!but lets have a look at the hidden travel costs when flying:

So your well chuffed with yourself,thinking your going to be jetting of to sunny spain for the same price as buying a bag of sweets?When suddenly they charging you to check in at the airport,charging you to carry a bag and for using the toilet!!

Budget airlines have a clever trick up their sleeves,they let you believe your flying for nothing when in reality you get to the check out and their piling up the costs:

• Baggage
• Sports equipment
• Insurance
• In-Flight Meals
• Online Check-In vs Airport Check-In
• Seat Selection
• Booking Fee and Credit/Debit Card Fee
• Priority Boarding

So Be Aware!!!!In flight Meals c'mon there is just no need for that!!thats if your like me and are NOT a big fan of plane food!I can barely even drink water on the plane,I was well impressed with myself when last month I flew to Toronto and ate a whole bar of choclate on the plane!!

Okay the next topic is something I am a major victim of,I actually dont have a contract phone because I do not trust myself but I have spent just enough on "topping" up while im on holiday:

The best way to avoid being overcharged is to use your phone sparingly, if at all, but for those who need to use their mobile abroad, for business or pleasure, there are ways to cut costs.

•  Check with your network that you are on its roaming service - this can save a significant amount of money on your mobile bill. They may also offer an roaming bundle to cut the cost of using your phone abroad on holiday.
•  If you do need to use the internet on holiday, check the price per MB before you go and avoid any heavy downloading or streaming. Again, check for bundles which help reduce the cost.
• Turn your phone off when you are not using it to avoid being charged to receive calls/ texts
• Remember that a quick call can be cheaper than a series of texts
• If you regularly visit the same place consider getting a local SIM card

The last thing you want is to come home after having the time of your life on holiday spending all your hard earned money on what you love, to a phone bill for £450.00 :/


Finally HAGGLE HAGGLE HAGGLE...these words should actually be flying around in your head constantly while your on holiday shopping!!

I am the kind of person that never wants to haggle,but I have definatly learned my lesson!
I was abroad with my friends a couple of years ago and I went into a little market store and found a Choclate Brown "Leather" Bag the sales man advised me it was £70.00 fair enough,real leather?nice bag?yes ill take it!!!

I didnt realise until my friend actually bought the same one for a fraction of that price £25.00!!!It was totally my bad I did not haggle him whats so ever and it actually said on the ticket price it was £35.00..So basically i was conned!!!haha no really it's so unfair!but it taught me not to act so intrested and just jump to saying yes!
