How to make your eyes appear bigger!

Hey girls! One of the most common questions I get asked is how to make small eyes look bigger and make them pop. My sister asked me that question today too. So as i was giving her my sisterly wisdom dosage i 

was inspired to do a post about it. 

They say eyes are the window to the soul and lets admit it we all want big beautiful eyes. Big eyes are sexy and feminine. So don't worry if you're not naturally blessed in that area. That's what i'm here for!

So here are my tips and tricks to make your eyes look bigger. Eye hope you like them. Lol oh god i really can't help myself. 

1. Use eyeliner on the top rim of your eye, only on your eyelids. Try to blend it with a cotton swab rather than leaving a harsh line. Also try to make the line as close to the lash line as possible and as thin as possible. Remember it is called EYE liner not LID liner for a reason. There is a fine LINE between tacky and tasteful. 

2. Avoid drawing eyeliner on the inner corner of the eye, instead, start the line at the beginning of eyelash growth. 

3. Use a light shade of eye shadow on the upper lid, which will open up the eye. A darker color can be used in the fold of the eye. Be careful as darker eyeshadows can make eyes appear smaller so try to stick to lighter colours. Try Applying a matte nude shadow over the entire lid. Try: MAC eye shadow in Orb.

4. Consider wearing false eyelashes to give your eyes a more wide-eyed look. Be sure to use natural-looking eyelashes. Unless you're a bird feathers are not natural. Try to chose really light lashs as heavy lashs can weigh the eye lid down defeating the objective of creating bigger looking eyes. 

5. Curl your eyelashes with an eyelash curler before applying mascara to give you the same effect as false eyelashes. Curling your eyelashs also opens your eyes up and makes them appear wider. 

6. I use a tiny bit of Illamasqua pure pigment in the inner corners of my eye in the colour Furore. This instantly makes my eyes pop and appear wider and brighter. I love it.

7. You can also apply a white/cream/pink eyeliner on the waterline of your eyes. I use Benefit's Eye Bright! It's not white its a light pink colour. You can then apply black/brown eyeliner on the lash line as the eye bright on its own can look a bit weird (Think the evil Snow queen)

8. Get rid of those panda eyes. Tired eyes always look smaller. Apply a good concealer under your eyes to get rid of dark circles. This makes a big difference to your eyes. I use Garnier Roll on Anti Dark circles and then apply my mac studio finish concealer NC35 it is also SP35 so it protects you against any further sun damage. Then to set the concealer i apply Benefit's Powderflage. Sometime's people apply concealer under there eyes to reduce the appearance of dark circles and they just end up looking worse. It is important to set it with powder. 

9. Tame those brows. You would be surprised how much of a big difference brows make to the look of your eyes. Get rid of those stray hairs from under the brow. Add a highlighter under the arch of the brows, this also helps open up your eyes. Groomed eyebrows add a lift to your eyes. I use Soap & Glory's Arch de Triumph from boots. Do not over pluck your brows. Thinner eyebrows do not equal bigger eyes. It equals to you permanently looking surprised. 

10. Also girls i know it sounds boring but don't forget to drink plenty of water. This will make your eyes brighter. Yes your mum isn't lying.
