Pump up the Volume! : Hair

Heyyyyy dolls!!! Okay so if you know us personally you will know that we are BIG on BIG hair!!! We love it! We always get questions on how to get BIG SEXY hair full of body. So here are the TRESS-TRANFORMING tips. 

Be careful when you cleanse : Girls you're going to be like DUHHH but using volumizing conditioner and shampoo (even if you have curly hair) can make a big difference. Apply conditioner only to ends. These products are formulated so that they don't weigh your hair down
Try: Dove Extra Volume Shampoo and Conditioner

Give your roots a boost: Apply a root lifting product before blowing dry, from half way through the hair shaft to the root of your hair - unless your hair is fine, in which case you should aim for the base of your roots only.
Try: Aveda Volumizing Tonic

A better blow-dry: For maximum OOOMPH!! Lift sections of hair toward the sky as you blow-dry (I'm a poet and i didn't even know it) directing hot air toward your scalp. This "cooks" the roots and dries them in an upright and lifted position. Oh god that doesnt sound pretty! But it's nothing compared to the rest of the ugly stuff us women go through to make ourselves beautiful so i'm sure you'll be fine. We promise we won't tell the men our secrets either ;) Yes we wakeup looking this glamorous! 

Upside-down is not a do: This one i hear about all the time. Everyone assumes flipping the hair over and blow drying adds volume. That personally does nothing for me. Flipping your head over to blow-dry gives your hair width (think Frankenstein Bride) 

Back Brush (The new Back comb): Instead of teasing your tresses with a comb (a surefire way to get volume, even if your hair is as flat as a 5 year old's chest), use a flat-backed brush, which will damage your hair less since the bristles are spaced apart more widely. Yes me and Sumaiya go Back comb crazy! We can't go a day without back combing. Even if its a casual trainers and hoody day. We back comb and add volume to that "lazy day hair do" Its a must" 

MIST hairspray!: The ultimate volume slayer: heavy hairspray. If you must use a finishing product, we recommend spritzing it into the air and walking through the poisonous cloud of hair spray. OR if you value your life and don't want to be gassed to death, spray the hair spray from a distance and let it fall onto your head gently. DO NOT over do it. Remember you want to be the cause of turning heads not the cause of the holes in the ozone layer!
Try: My ultimate fave hair spray is TRESemme! It smells nice and it gives the perfect hold. Also it actually is the 1st hair spray that you dont need a gas mask to use. I went to superdrug yesterday and they didnt have my beloved TRESemme and i had to buy Loreal Elnett! I expected it to be good seeing as though half the world uses it. I swear i nearly choked to death and died.

Exaggerate your ends: If your hair is curly or wavy, you tend to have body at your roots and straggly ends. For balance, blow-dry hair straight first, then add body back in using a curling iron or rollers from midshaft down.

You lot probably thought i was abducted by aliens but i am still here well and breathing (despite my near death experience with the hair spray) Yes i think you've all gathered it's not just my hair i exaggerate ;)
